Have a Cat Treat Baking Party

We all know that the “T” word are a cat’s favorite thing… If you haven’t tried baking healthy treats for your cats yet here is a super simple recipe! You probablyy have most of the ingredients at home already. Your cats will be pacing the kitchen as they bake!

Ingredients

• 2 tablespoons oil (coconut or olive oil work great)
• 1 1/4 cups flour – plus additional flour for rolling dough
• 1 tablespoon dried catnip (optional)
• 3/4 cup finely shredded carrot
• 1 large egg, lightly beaten
• cold water as needed

Instructions

• Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
• In a medium-sized bowl add oil and mix in 1 cup of the flour until the mixture looks sandy.
• Stir in catnip and carrots.
• Mix in egg. Add a little water if the mixture looks too dry and isn’t holding together. Add a little flour if the mixture looks too wet and sticky.
• Sprinkle the surface with a little additional flour and roll or pat out dough to ¼ inch thickness. Sprinkle dough with additional flour as needed.
• Prick dough all over with a fork. Use a pizza wheel to cut dough into 1/2 inch squares.
• Arrange squares on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
• Bake for 12 minutes or until starting to brown. (Bake longer for drier texture.)
• Cool on a baking sheet.
• Store in an airtight container for a week or freeze for longer storage.

Cats love massages just as much as their hoomans, why wouldn’t they? Plus, they are great for them as well. • Six parts muscle meat with ground bone (chicken thighs, drumsticks)
• One part gizzards or organs (chicken liver, heart, stomach)
• 1/2 part egg (as a protein-rich binder)in with your kitty!
